  1. Respond to aircraft incident
  2. Use appropriate equipment
  3. Evacuate persons and attend to casualties
  4. Conduct operations
  5. Conclude operations

Evidence Required

Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit

It is essential for this unit that competence be demonstrated in aviation firefighting tactics and strategies selection and use of firefighting equipment personal protective clothing and equipment in a manner compliant with the aviation organisations and legislativeregulatory requirements and objectives

Consistency in performance

Competency in this unit needs to be assessed over a period of time to ensure consistency of performance in a range of applicable simulated scenarios consistent with the range of response responsibility requirements

Context of and specific resources for assessment

Context of assessment

Evidence should be gathered over a period of time in a range of actual or simulated workplace environments

Specific resources for assessment

access to firefighting equipment

protective clothing and equipment

access to an airport

access to aircraft

fire extinguishment media

relevant legislation and regulations

access to simulated aviation incidents

Guidance information for assessment

Information that will assist or guide assessment will be written during Phase II of the Review of the PUA Public Safety Training Package

Information that will assist or guide assessment will be written during Phase II of the Review of the PUA00 Public Safety Training Package.
